-        Born and raised in the South Bronx

-        Attended the NYC Public School System, graduated from Stuyvesant High School

-        Served 10 years in the military; 5 on active duty in the US Air Force (tours in Europe, the Middle East and Viet Nam/SEA) and 5 years in the NJ Air National Guard

-        Trained in communications and digital electronics by the Air Force, entered the mini/personal computer industry in 1971

-        Worked for several small computer companies, as a field technician/engineer/programmer

-        Specialized in the use of computers in graphic arts

-        Consulted for Apple, Via Video, IBM, DEC (now a part of HP), DuPont, Quark and startups, in the development of software and hardware for the graphic arts industry

-        Work highlights:

o      At the New York Daily News and Avon Products developed internal operations that redefined production departments, converting them to customer focused profit centers

o      Director of Production for Engineering Information Inc.; lead the conversion of a not-for-profit 100+ year old conventional indexing and publishing company into an Internet data provider

o      As part of merger/acquisition teams, performed financial and operational due diligence on potential candidate companies

-        BA in Math and Applied Science, from Thomas Edison State College

-        Certified Financial Planner™, guiding and educating those who are under the radar of most financial institutions.

-        Volunteer with the AARP Tax Aide program, doing free tax returns for low and middle income families. With an emphasis on helping senior citizens.

-        Active in the Lions Club and various environmental groups.
